Merril Benson was a Marysvale visitor vis-itor the later part of the week. Ed. Allred departed for Salt Lake Wednesday. Adolph Anderson and Wayne Nun-ley Nun-ley are visitors in Manti this week. J. A. Johnson is a Salt Lake visitor this week. Miss Junieta Schofield has returned return-ed home after having spent the winter win-ter in Salt Lake attending school. Mrs. Harry Dean of Provo has been visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Wilford West at Chester. Fergus Johnson came down from Salt Lake Tuesday to attend the funeral fun-eral of his niece. Mrs. Emma' Peterson of Woodside returned to her home ;Wednesday after several weeks spent in Spring City. Miss Myrtle Madsen came down from Salt Lake Monday to attend the funeral of her niece, Henretta Johnson. John-son. William Sorenson has returned to his labors with the Deseret Live Stock Co., after spending a few days at home with his family. Peter Christensen, Fred Thompson and Alvin Burtelson departed for the west desert Wednesday where they have employment. They went by way of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Sorenson ol Eureka have been here this week to attend the Golden Wedding of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sorenson. Soren-son. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Right from Canada have been visiting with relatives rela-tives in Spring City for several days. They expect to return to Salt Lak soon at which place they expect to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. James Ellis returned home the later part of the week aftei having spent several weeks in the northern part of the state, Mr. Ellis reports having had a most enjoyable time and says the farmers are plowing plow-ing around Ogden. Twenty-nine of our people took advantage of the Special train Saturday Satur-day evening and went to Ephraim to witness the basket ball game between be-tween the Manti and Mount Pleasant High School teams, the former team carrying off the honors. A good sized crowd of Spring City's most popular young men entertained en-tertained themselves at a chicken dinner in the Opera House Friday evening, after dinner Bkating and amusements of variqus sorts were indulged in-dulged indulged in. The boys report having enjoyed themselves immense- Joseph Hermansen of Ephraim and Miss Florence Jensen of Spring City were married at Manti February 24th. They gave a dance in the Spring City Opera House the same evening in. honor of the occttan. refreshments being served. Mr. and Mrs. Hermansen will make thuii home at Ephraim. Henretta Johnson, the little six- year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs Arthur Johnson passed away SmV day morning after a very brief illness ill-ness which the doctor pronounced congestion of the bowels. Funeral services were held in the tabernacle Wednesday afternoon a 1 o'clock, and enterment made in the Spring City Cemetery. Floral offerings were many and beautiful. Th, bereaved be-reaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sorensen celebrated cel-ebrated their Golden Wedding Monday, Mon-day, February 22nd, at 2 o'clock p. m. A sumptuous dinner was served to seventy six of their relatives and friends. The afternoou was spent in speech making and social conversation; conver-sation; in the evening a dancing par-ty par-ty was indulged in at the Opera House, and refreshments were served during the evening. The following poem was composed by Miss Lau-ver Lau-ver Osborne of Spring City, in their honor, and read by Bishop Allred just before eating dinner: The Mutual girls went to eat bread and milk with Miss Libbie Acord Monday night. They found themselves themsel-ves very welcome although she was greatly surprised. After playing a number of games they were" called' into the dining room where an elaborate elab-orate luncheon was served by the Mutual officers. Mrs. Don Allred, Lola Barkn.an, Cedena All- FAIRVIEW Mr. and Mrs. Swen O. Nielsen went to Salt Lake City Monday. Miss Birdella Pritchett is visiting friends and relatives at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Hansen of Provo Pro-vo visited relatives here this week. Mr. O. L. Terry of Provo visited relatives the fore part of the week in Fairview. Mr. John L. Bench, Jr., is a business bus-iness visitor at Salt Lake City this week. Mr. Amasa Terry and Miss Birdella Bird-ella Pritchett are spending the week in Provo. Dr. and Mrs. O. K. Hansen came out from Provo last week to spend a few days with relatives and friends. Whooping cough is reported in Fairview this week. All cases reported, re-ported, however, are in a light form. Mr. Lavern Swensen who has spent the past six months in Fairview, re-, turned to his home in Canada this week. Messrs Earl Chfistensen, J. T. Fowles and Laross Christensen were Ephraim visitors during the past week. Miss Marcella Lassen came home from the U. of U. for a short visit with parents and frrends-during the week. The party given Monday evening by the Parents' Class of the Sunday School was a great success socially and financially. Miss Grace Pritchett has returned to Ogden after spending the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Pritchett. Pres. A. Merz and Elder Wm. Madsen Mad-sen of Mount Pleasant and Bishop O. L. Terry of Provo were the speakers speak-ers at the L. D. S. Chapel last Sun-Jay. Sun-Jay. A large audience was present. On Tuesday evening a birthday surprise party was given at the home )f Archie R. Anderson by friends and relatives. The evening was spent in games, music and social chat. An excellent luncheon was served. Friday evening a number of friends and relatives gave a surprise party to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Bench in honor of his birthday. A pleasant social e.venine was spent in games, music, etc. Delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Melgaard entertained at Dinner Din-ner Monday February 22. Those present pres-ent were: Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Carter, Mrs. H. S. Olsen, Cleo Olseu, Helena Christensen, Emma Magleby, Isabel Hoggan, Sadie Ockey and the host and hostess. Mrs. J. L. Bench, Jr., entertained at dinner Sunday February 21st. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. H. 3. Olsen, Isabel Hoggan, Cleo Olsen, Emma Magleby, Sadie Ockey, Belva Cox, Mrs. Walter Cox and the host and hostess. The Ladies' Literary Club met with Mrs. W. O. Christensen February 24. Mrs. Harry Rasmusseu gave "Servia md Her People." Mrs. J. H. Sanderson Sand-erson read "Doing your Best at All Times." Current Events were given bv MiSs Mary Sundwall. Eleven ladies were present. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Stewart entertained en-tertained at a birthday party Wednesday Wed-nesday evening.
