Show Funeral Services Held For Mrs. N. B. Nielson Funeral services for Mrs. N. B. Neilon, who died after a brief illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. F. NEILSON op Peterson conducted the services and was assisted by Rev. Martin. The music was furnished by a double quariet from the senior class of the Manti High School, of which Ruth Becker, grand-daughter of Mrs. Nielson Niel-son is a member. The benediction was pronounced by Dr. Paden. The body was then taken to Mount Pleasant for interment and services were also held at the North Ward chapel. Bishop H. . Jacobs presiding. presid-ing. "Nearer My God to Thee" was sung by members of the Wasatch Music department. Bishop Jacobs jifered the opening prayer. Miss Bidwell of Wasatch Academy sang "Lead Kindly Light." Bishop James Larseu having known Mrs. Nielson since childhood, gave a very nice i -view of her life in which he exalted her noble qualities for thrift and industry, in-dustry, and showed how she had been identified in the up-building of Mount Pleasant and engaged in industries that augmented the material wealth of the community, inasmuch as her husband was an invalid he said it was remarkable how she had raised land educated her children, and besides, be-sides, had accumulated a competence for life that smoothed the path of her closing years, and lessened the burden bur-den until the sun went down. She was the first lady who kept a hotel in Mount Pleasant. The quartet rendered rend-ered a selection and Rev. Mr. Norton delivered a brief and beautiful sermon, ser-mon, each paragraph pointing towards to-wards the celestial home to which all are moving and where we shall all meet again. The enunciation of his Christian principles was freighted with love, comfort and cheer to the family which left a sweet benign influence in-fluence when he had finished. Dr. Paden pronounced the benediction. All that was mortal of Mrs. Nielson was laid to rest in the city cemetery by the side of Mr. Neilson who died 2 0 years ago. Bishop H. C. Jacobs dedicated the grave. beautiful flowers were sent from far and near. A large boquet of lillies were sent from California from her own garden at Long Beach. F. C. Jensen, S. E. Jensen, John II. Seely, Win. Olson, L. F. Becker and Maurice Jensen were the pall hearers. Mrs. Nielson was born in Sweden April 6th 1830. She came to America Amer-ica in 1862 and was married the same year to N. B. Neilson. Three children were born ' to them all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. J. W. Philips of California, Mrs. F. C. Jensen of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. L. F. Pecker of Mnnti, Utah. |
