Show SPRING CITY Niels Jensen went to Manti Tuesday. Tues-day. James Clawson was called to Salt Lake on business Tuesday. Hyrum Jensen departed for Price Monday. Miss Myrtle Mao.oen reiurneii u. her work at Salt Lake Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hevmansen left for their home in Ephraim Tuesday. Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs. Niels Omensen of Provo are visiting relatives at Spring City. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Justesen of Chester spent a few days at Iudianola this week. Mrs. Nena Justesen has been visiting visit-ing with her sister, Mrs. Emil Erick-seu Erick-seu at Ephraim. Hyrum Peterson and J. P. Johnson are business visitors at Provo this week. - Mrs. R. A. Strate and children departed de-parted lor Los Angeles Tuesday. Mrs. Strate will go by way of Tulare to visit with her parents. Mrs. Ross Allred and children arrived ar-rived home Wednesday from Sublet, Wyoming where they have been during dur-ing the winter. The manager of the Opera House reports that a medicine company will show at the Opera House next week commencing Monday, March 8th. advt. "Because I Love You" was presented present-ed at the Opera House Wednesday evening by the Fairview Dramatic Club lor tile benefit ofthe local Sunday Sun-day School. The play is a good one .uitl was witnessed by a large and appreciative ap-preciative audience. The Fairview Dramatic Club is to bo commended for its presentation of the play. Each and every member played his or her part in a most excellent manner. It ,s hoped we will be able to see them in Spring City again, soon. Lester G. Allred, a life long resilient resi-lient of Spring City, passed away at his home in this city, February 26th, from an attack of heart trouble having hav-ing been a constant sufferer for several sev-eral years. Mr. Allred was thirty-four thirty-four years old. He leaves besides i wife anil three children many rel-atives rel-atives and friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services were In Id in the tabernacle Monday at I p. m. The speakers were Robert Brough, Geo. Vllred, J. S. Blain and Bishop Allred. Enterment was made in the Spring City cemetery. One of the most enjoyable and sue-'cssful sue-'cssful dancing parties of the season was given at the Opera House Monthly Mon-thly evening bv a feyof Spring City's most popular young .nen. mere hem,: fifty-four couples in attendance. They danced from 7 p. m. till 11 p. m. when the refreshments which consisted con-sisted of a tive-course dinner was served. rliofs were Oscar Carlson. I, -nice r.rouch, Alen Blain and Grovpi Blain. The hoys are to be commended commend-ed very highly for the excellent dinner din-ner they arranged and the nice orderly or-derly way in which the dance and serving was conducted. Committee reports were read and discussed and other committees were appointed to investigate the water supply and make a canvas to ascertain the number of people willing wil-ling to take the water if the system be installed. Another meeting will be called soon as the committees now at work are ready to report. Spring City is probably about the only town in the state of its size without a water wat-er system. The good people of Spring City should not allow themselves them-selves to he behind all their neighbors neigh-bors in this respect any longer. It is to be hoped that the water system can be secured. The following program will he given giv-en at the tabernacle for Conjoint Session Ses-sion Sunday evening March 7th: Vocal Solo - Miss Ruth Davis, Retold Story - Emil Neilsen, Piano Selection - Preston Hansen, Lecture - F. E. Allred. Vocal Solo - Merril Benson, Retold Story - Miss Gertrude Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, Piano Selection - Wyroa Bunnel, Reading - Fred Strate. The public is cordially invited. Quite a number of Spring City people peo-ple are taking the Genealogical work at Mount Pleasant this week. |
