WALLIS PLEADS GUILTY. Fine of $1,500 Imposed on Former Food Inspector of Idaho. Boise, Idaho. All cases against James H. Wallis, former state dairy, food and sanitary inspector of the state of Idaho were disposed of Tuesday Tues-day in the district court by the defendant de-fendant entering a technical plea of guilty to one case, in which it was charged that Mr. Wallis certified to a pay roll for a full month's pay to a deputy, who was then working in another an-other part of the state and who had only worked part of the month, which Mr. Wallis at the time of the certificate certifi-cate did not know, he claimed, but signed the certificate in ordinary course. The other cases were dismissed. dis-missed. A fine of $1,500 was Imposed upon the plea, which was paid. Mr. Wallis stated that he adopted this course rather than submit himself him-self to the great expense of defending the several cases.
