Show BASE BALL TEAM NOW ORGANIZED There is a movement on foot among the business men of Mount Pleasant to lune a half holiday each Thursday afternoon beginning at one o'clock during the months of May, June, July and August. It is planned that the stores close their places of business and support the ball team. For a number of ywars Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant has not been represented as strongly as some would like to see them on the athletic field, and it has been the ernest desire of a great many of the business men of this city to encourage the. town to support sup-port a good base ball team and represent rep-resent the town welt. A meeting of a number of people who are interested in base ball was held at the Armory Hall last Saturday Satur-day evening and the men present decided to tirganize a dk.-c ball team for the season. William' Hansen acted act-ed as chairman of the meeting and the men proceeded to organize a team. J. H. Strauss was selected to be mauager of the team, with I. E. Jorgenson to be assistant; Orange Aid rich was selected to be secretary and Treasurer; Mr. Donaldson was chosen for captain with A. L. Neilson as asslntant. The management has already arranged ar-ranged to give a dance next Thursday Thurs-day for the purpose of raising funds to help the organization get. the ball in the field. The entire team has not yet been selected, but they expect to have one that will come in the front rank this season. Help the game along. |
