Show The Church Corner. . . General Conference At Salt Lake Takes Place Of Local Sunday Meets Sessions of Junior Sunday schools are the only meetings scheduled at Mt. Pleasant North and South wards Sunday. The L.D.S. church's general conference, slated for this weekend week-end at Salt Lake city, is the reason senior Sunday school and sacrament meetings are being held, it was explained. Ward I Mrs. Frances LemMon was chairman of the teacher training train-ing program conducted Wednesday Wed-nesday evening for teachers of the South ward Primary. Mrs. Jewel Sorensen, president presi-dent of the association, was hostess and conducted the program. pro-gram. J. Seymour Jensen gave the lesson and the panel discussion, following the lesson, was participated par-ticipated in by Mrs. Ada Robin-sen Robin-sen and Edna Brotherson. . Refreshments were served by the hostess. Salt Lake Pastor Will Speak At Presb. Church Radio Station KSVC will broadcast meditations at 9:15 a. m. Sunday featuring music by the choir of the First Presby- terian Church. Morning worship Mtse? will be conducted at Mt. Pleas ant at 11:00 a. m. . . . At 7:15 p. m. the Junior High Westminster Fellowship v,ni hear Bill Hanley, chairman oi the Faith and Life Commission, lead the discussion topic School of Faith." . L , The Senior Westminster fellowship fel-lowship will have as guest speaker Bishop Leo Larsen oi the Mt. Pleasant South wara-Bishop wara-Bishop Larsen will speak on tne topic "Exploring Mormonism in the series of topics entitled "Exploring Faiths." . . The Rev. Donald J. Christiansen, Christian-sen, minister of the Wasatch Presbyterian Church, Salt Lake City, will be the guest speakei Monday evening at 7:15 p. m. in the Wasatch Guild meeting. He will also address the student stu-dent body at regular chapel services Tuesday morning at 8:45. Tuesday afternoon at 4:uo o'clock the Womens Missionary' Society will meet. "Recapitulation" "Recapitu-lation" will be the theme of the meeting. Mrs. Amy Holmes will bring the meditations, with Mrs. William Burton and Miss Betty Vinton scheduled to be hostesses. Thursday evening at 7:30 the Midweek Meditation program will be conducted at the church manse. Topic for study will be Article II of the Brief Statement State-ment of the Reformed Faith, "The New Life."1 |
