Burial Is Sunday Sergeant Hero Brought Back For Burial Here Graveside services for Sergeant Serg-eant Berdean Allred, 29, will he conducted in the Mt. Pleasant city cemetery at 1 p. m. Sunday, Sun-day, April 3 under the direction of the North ward bishopric, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Military rites will be in charge of Co. A 145th Field Artillery Battalion, UNG and M. H. Zabriskie Post No. 4 American Legion. Burial will be in charge of the Ursenbach Funeral Home. Friends may call at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Allred, from 10 a. m. Sunday till time of services. Sgt. Allred was born in Mt. Pleasant July 6, 1915, a son of Alma and Ruth Coates Allred, and attended the elementary and high school in this city. He was married to Alice Hill of Idaho Falls, in Logan November 14, 1935. He was a member of the National ' Guard at Mt. Pleasant, five years before entering en-tering military service in 1944. His basic training was received at Camp. Roberts, Calif., . and Fort George Mead, Md. He was assigned to overseas duty September 6, 1944 and was killed in action, December 6, 1944 in Linnich, Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal; European-African-Middle Eastern campaign medal; Bronze Service Star; combat in-fantrymans in-fantrymans badge; Eagle medal; med-al; expert badge with rifle bar; the Purple Heart, posthumously, and the World War II victory medal. Surviving are his parents; a daughter and a son, Florence Ruth and Melvin Allred of Roy, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Ruson Dyson, 1786 Wilson Ave., Salt Lake city; Mrs. Arda June Blackham, McGill, Nevada; four brothers, Ace L. Allred with the U. S. Army in Tokyo, Japan; Bruce, Mont and Alan Allred of Mt. Pleasant; his grandparents, Mrs. William Allred of Spring City and William Allred of Mt. Pleasant. MIS David M. Clay, who accompanied ac-companied the remains as military mili-tary escort, attended the graveside grave-side services. |
