Show Army Day Proclamation Whereas, April 6, 1949 has )been designated by the President Presi-dent and the Congress of the United States, and by the Governor Gov-ernor of this State, as ARMY DAY, to commemorate the outstanding out-standing contributions, past and present, of the United States Army to the peace, welfare wel-fare and security of our nation, and Whereas, the theme for ARMY DAY "The United States Army part of the team for security" emphasizes that our Army is working together with our Navy and Air Force for a common l cause the security of the Uni- Tfi ted States and " Whereas, other purposes of Army Day are to honor America's Ameri-ca's soldiers living and dead 'flrtwho served or who are serving 'Min the Regular Army, the National Nat-ional Guard and the Organized Reserve; to acquaint the peo- 131 pie of the United States with the national services rendered by the United States Army, and Qithe necessities of organization Inland means which make these services possible and to jempha-size jempha-size the responsibilities of every citizen and every community to support "The United States Army part of - the teanwfor security", Therefore, as Mayor of the City of Mt. Pleasant, Utah I do hereby officially declare April 6 1949 as ARMY DAY in this city, and call on all of our citizens citi-zens to honor the United States Army on this day as a foremost fore-most defender of those inalienable inalien-able rights we cherish as American Amer-ican citizens, and as a principal part of the Armed Forces of the United States which are dedicated dedi-cated to the defense of our country and of world peace.
