Show The Church Corner. . . Youngsters Help Out Primary Officers And Teachers In Fund Drive Primary teachers from both North and South wards in Mt. Pleasant have been participating participat-ing in a church-wide canvas for the benefit of the Primary Crippled Children's hospital at Salt Lake city. Every family in town has been asked to contribute one penney for each year represented repre-sented in the ages of the members mem-bers of the family. The birthday penney drive is an annual affair and funds collected col-lected help defray the expenses of the non-profit children's hospital hos-pital maintained by the youth association at Salt Lake. This year the South ward Primary association undertook pre-drive visits by members of the association to inform families fam-ilies in the ward that officers and teachers would be around later to solicit birthday pennies. The youngsters who participated in the pre-drive visits were called Primary missionaries. Race Relations Sunday Is February Thirteenth "What is a Christian?" will be the sermon subject on Radio Station KSVC at 9:00 a. m. Sunday. Sun-day. Morning worship services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Pres-byterian Church at 11:00 a. m. Rev. E. E. Bollinger will preach on a race relations theme in Protestant observance of Race Relations Sunday. The Junior High Westminster Fellowship will enjoy a log-cabin log-cabin party at 7:15 p. m. at the church manse. Mary Jensen, chairrrjan of the Fellowship CorryTiission, will conduct the meeting. The Senior Westminster Fellowship Fel-lowship will present William Burton as guest leader. Mr. Burton is instructor of music at Wasatch Academy, and will present a musical program under un-der the title "Melody Time." Monday evening, February 14, Scout Troop 508 will hold its regular meeting in" the basement base-ment rooms of the church. William Wil-liam Burton, Scoutmaster, will direct activities. Tuesday morning, February 15, at 8:45 a. m. the Rev. W. D. Newhouse will begin his series of Inspiration Week addresses at Wasatch Academy. Mr. Newhouse will speak each morning at chapel services, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, after-noons, and at the morning worship wor-ship service at the First Presbyterian Presby-terian Church Sunday, February Febru-ary 20. The public is invited to attend any or all of these meetings. |
