Show Praise Is Given Farmer-Stockman At Rites Wed. Funeral services for Pete: Lewis Andersen, 83, were conducted con-ducted at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the South ward chapel by Bishop Leo C. Larsen. Mr. Andersen, prominent Mt. Pleasant farmer and stock grower, died Sunday morning from causes incident to age. He had been an active church worker, serving as a missionary for the L. D. S. church in Scandinavia Scan-dinavia from 1900 to 1903 and aiso served a mission in the ' Stats of Washington in 1927. He was a member of the 226th quorum of Seventies and had served many years as a ward teacher. He had also served as a board member of the Twin Creek Irrigation Co. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Nov. 2, 1865 of pioneer parents, Mads and Caroline Olsen Andersen. Ander-sen. He was married in the Manti L. D. S. Temple, Jan. 5, 1903 to Henrietta M. Petersen. She died in 1922 Surviving are one son and four daughters, Lewis M. Andersen Ander-sen and Mrs. Alice A. Daniels of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Carrie A. Hasler of Santa Barbara, Calif.; Mrs. Anna Andersen of Eph-raim, Eph-raim, and Mrs. Devonia A. Kiesel of Manti; 40 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. George Rosenberg Petersen of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Edna Thalman of Bountiful. Bounti-ful. The deceased was praised as a respected, God-fearing man and one whose good life would be reflected in the lives of his descendants. Speakers were Bishop Leo C. Larsen, who also conducted the services, and O. F. Peel, Joseph Johansen and Nelson Johansen. Musical numbers included a duet by Jay and Ruby Hafen, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Ethel Ericksen; Erick-sen; vocal solo, Mrs. Keith All-red; All-red; vocal solo, Ray Beck; duet. James Monsen and Ruth Jones, and trio, Anna Gunderson, Ella Anderson and Lucille Seely. The opening prayer was given by Joseph Olsen while the benediction bene-diction was pronounced by J. Leo Seely. Rr. Bruce Seely dedicated the grave. |
