Show ftritiisiice Day Observed By North SanpeU Hifh Armistice Day was fittingly observed by the students of the North Sanpete high school. A very interesting assembly pro-1 pro-1 gram was presented sponsored by the Social Science Department. Depart-ment. A eleven a. m- tihe student body assembled on the lawn around the flagpole where a flag ceremony was conducted under the direction of Scout Lloyd Christensen. The students stu-dents then marched to the aud itorkim to the music of tine band and there enjoyed' an amateur hour of orations, readings, and ! musical numbers. The theme of the program was "Education for a Strong America". Mr. Robert Jensen was the radio announcer, and he was assisted by Miss Marian Aldridh who i was cleverly attired to represent repre-sent Miss North Sanpete. I At line conclusion of the pro-' pro-' gram the student body was giw-en giw-en toe privilege a.1 voting for ' the numbers which they considered con-sidered best on the program, and prizes were awarded. Prizes for the best orations went to Mr. Clinton Draper of I Spring City and to Miss Dona ! Nordstrom of' Fairview. Miss .Maurine Vance of Fairview received re-ceived a prize for tfhe best reading, and Mr. Keith Allred and Mr. Sheldon Sohofield o! Spring City were given the prize for the best musical number. num-ber. The program closed with I the students singing "God Bless America.". I |
