Show I Church Worker I Passes Away j Sarah Olevia Monsen Johansen i Passes Away at Family Homo Following Long Illness Sarah Olevia Monsen Johan ' wi sen,59, prominent church worker, civic leader and club woman oi ' this city died at her home, 206 u South 3rd West early , Saturday morning following a lingering ill- i ness of carcinoma. A1 . Mrs. Johansen, a life-long resist resi-st dent of this city, was born here Sept. 13, 1884, a" daughter of Peter (Li Monsen and Annie Christensen. She received her education in Ctim the schools of this city. She served ckej for five years as President of the jci South Ward Relief Society, hav-" hav-" ing previously acted as counselor JCc; in the same organization, and I for 40 years acted as a visiting '. teacher. She has taught in the tte; Primary and been a faithful ji,:, member of the other auxiliariy organizations. For 46 years she has been a t member of the ward choir and has ' taken an actvie part in musical circles in her church and com-munity. com-munity. .ali She was a member of the fi Daughters of Utah Pioneers, a !i 5 member of the Acme Literary club and the Friendship club. She was married to Joseph Johansen, Jo-hansen, prominent church worker, work-er, stock raiser, and farmer of this city, November 4, 1903, in the . Manti Temple. I I To them were born seven chil-- chil-- t dren. She is survived by: her a husband; one daughter. Mrs. Etta Hayward, Bountiful, Utah; four hsons, Vernon Johansen, music instructor in-structor in the Payson Jr. High School; Grant, Wesley and Don lid .Johansen of Mt. Pleasant, Utah; Nil 8 grandchildren; six sisters, Josephine Jo-sephine Jorgensen, Ephraim, U-l U-l tah; Christie Beck, Aberdeen, Ida- ho; Nora Mcintosh and Esther M. f West, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. J. C. Madsen, Salt Lake City, Utah; (J1 and Sena Aldrich, Mt. Pleasant; " 3 brothers, John Monsen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Peter Monsen, Hiawatha, Utah, and James Mon-') Mon-') sen, Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Services will be conducted here next Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the South Ward chapel under direc-M direc-M tion of Bishop J. Seymour Jensen. to Interment will be in the Mt. m Pleasant Cemetery with the Ur-ui Ur-ui senbach Funeral Home in charge.
