Mr. and Mrs. Monte Briggs and daughter are visiting at the home of Mr. Briggs' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Briggs. Monte is home on a 14-day leave from the j U. S. Merchant Marines where he has been stationed at San Pedro, California. ! Corporal Jack Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tucker, is home on a two-weeks' furlough visiting with his wife and parents.- Jack is a Machinist in the Air Corps and has been stationed in Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Stewart are the proud parents of a baby girl born July 10th. Mrs. Malinda Tucker celebrated her Birthday annivedsary at her home last Saturday. A delicious hot dinner was served to 25 relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. Donna Winters left this week for Camp Lewis, Washington Washing-ton to join her husband, who is in the Service with the S. C. U. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Larsen and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tucker and two children of Sunnydale, Utah were -week end visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tucker. Mr. James T. Peterson was a visitor in Salt Lake City last week. The Primary officers and teachers teach-ers of the Fairview South ward entertained the Primary children at an outing last Tuesday afternoon. after-noon. Every one enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon. Mrs. Murl Jensen and Mrs. Lu-cile Lu-cile Madsen were visitors in Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Ellis Coombs left last week for Texas, where she will go to visit with relatives. Miss Una Loy Turpin of Salt Lake City visited with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Julia Turpin, and other relatives and friends last week. Miss Turpin is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Randal Turpin Tur-pin of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Maud Hartley was hostess to the "Rook" club at her home last Friday afternoon. Dainty refreshments were served to the members of the cluu. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Briggs were visitors in Salt Lake City this week. Miss Dixie Stevens was surprised sur-prised at her home Wednesday afternoon, the occasion being her Birthday anniversary. The afternoon after-noon was spent in playing games. Refreshments were served to the guests. Mrs. Dorcas Erickson entertained enter-tained last Friday afternoon at her home in honor of the Sewing Club. A delicious luncheon was served to eleven ladies. The time was spent in quilting a beautiful quilt. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Vance had Staff Sergeant and Mrs. John Seely as their guests at their home last week. Sergeant Seely and wife have been stationed in Missouri for the past few months. Mrs. Seely was the former Miss Virginia Vance. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Smith of Kenilworth, Utah and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eckley and daughter, daugh-ter, Joy of Provo were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Smith this week. Mrs. Lucy Tucker entertained the Bridge club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. A most delicious delici-ous luncheon was served to 11 members and 2 special guests. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Erickson entertained at a hot dinner at their home Wednesday evening in honor of Corporal Clair Peterson, Peter-son, who is home on furlough from Scott Field, Illinois. There were 13 relatives present. A most enjoyable evening was had by all present. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Sorenson were called to Salt Lake City this week to the bed side of their son-in-law, Mr. Argyle Pherson, who is seriously ill at the present time. |
