Show SPRING CITY , I By Special Correspondence I Impressive funeral services for Mrs. Clara R. Allred, 88, an early pioneer woman of Spring City, were conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. by Bishop E. B. Terry in the Spring City ward chapel. Music was furnished by the ward choir, under direction of Mrs. Rose Schofield. The opening open-ing song, "Beautiful Home" was appropriately rendered by the choir. The opening prayer was offered by Elder Joseph G. Schofield Scho-field and the choir sang, "Sister Thou Wast Mild and Lovely." The speakers were Rose S. Peder-son, Peder-son, Floyd Draper, ManettAll-red ManettAll-red and R. H. Christensen, all of whom spoke words of consolation consola-tion and also praise of her character char-acter and devotion to her church, family and friends. A duet, "In The Garden," was sung by Le-vern Le-vern Blain and Olga Black, accompanied ac-companied at the piano by A-thene A-thene Osborne. The benediction was given by President H. C. Jacobs. The ballbearers were sons and sons-in-law of Mrs. Allred, Thomas Allred, Warren E. All-red. All-red. William Lee Allred, Royal Allred, Herbert Allred and Roy Christensen. Members of the local lo-cal camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers carried the many beautiful beau-tiful floral offerings. The grave in the family plot in the Spring City cemetery was dedicated by Royal Allred and buria), was under direction of the Jacobs Mortuary of Mt. Pleasant. Out of town people who attended at-tended the services were Alonzo Wall, Clara Johnson and Evinda Madsen of Manti; Clark Allred and family and Claree Judd of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Mont Schofield, Scho-field, Mr. and Mrs. Veo Schofield Scho-field of Rupert, Idaho ;Edith Rus-ten Rus-ten Christensen and'faimly, Ev-eret Ev-eret Larsen and .children, Mrs. Ellis Hughes, Mrs. Clair Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Jensen, Mrs. Alta Olsen, all of Salt Lake City; Frank Allred, and family of Provo; Pro-vo; Vernon Chritensen of Pay-son; Pay-son; Mr. and Mrs. Abe Little, Mrs. Maud Acord of Moroni and Mrs. Clive Barney of Los Angeles, California and many others. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Allred of Preston, Nevada who came here to attend funeral services for his mother, Mrs. Clara Allred visited a few days with Mrs. All-red's All-red's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Black before returning to their home in Nevada. Christian Thompson of Salt Lake City is here visiting with his parents. Mr. ana Mrs. Chris Thompson and otner relatives in Spring City. Mrs. Lee Brown and sons of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Mack Butler and children of Provo are here guests of IVrr. and Mrs. Earl Jensen, their parents. David Wilde and family came from Salt Lake City to spend a week in the counry visiting with relatives. Mrs. John Pedersen Monday accompanied her grandson, who has been visitipg here for a short time, to his home in Salt Lake City. Joseph Hyde, son of the late Apostle Hyde, came from Salt, Lake City, to visit relatives and to see the old town of his boyhood boy-hood days and to talk with old friends of his boyhood days. Mrs. Boyd Blain has returned from Kentucky where she has been staying near her husband, who is stationed there in the U. S. service. She is now here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Osmer H., Beck. Warner Christensen and family, fam-ily, and Verniel Robinson and family came from Provo to spend the week end at their homes in this city. Byron Ericksen, son of Mrs. Eva Ericksen, who for nearly two years has suffered from an unknown illness contracted while laboring a s misionary in the Southern States mission, was Mondav taken to an Ogden hospital hos-pital for special medical treatment. treat-ment. Mrs. Gottfred Larsen was last week advised of the death of her uncle, Severin jensen, 71, who died on the ISth of June at Great Falls, Montana. Mrs. Austin Sorensen was last Thursday afternoon hostess to the K. K. club members at her home in Spring City. |
