Ova Lund, grandson of Mrs. Mary Fredrickson of Fountain Foun-tain Green has been awarded the Purple Heart for gallantry in the South Pacific Islands. Mr. Lund is now located at the Bushnell hospital in Brigham City. Bishop Gayle Yorgason has been appointed manager of the Big Springs Power Company for this district. He will succeed Mr. Claud Harner of Moroni, who is leaving to become co-owner of a ranch at Garrison, Utah. Mr. Warner received his appointment appoint-ment to this position August 1, 1942 when Ernest R. Anderson resigned from this district to become be-come manager of the Sevier district. dis-trict. Bishop Yorgason has been in the employ or the company beginning May 1, 1941, therefore, he has merited nis promotion. He will continue to make his home in Fountain Green. Mrs. Alma Nielson and children chil-dren of Provo visited during the I week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Neilson. Miss Bessie Wade of Ogden is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Christiansen. Miss Colleen Holman has left for Riverside, Calif., where she will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Holman. Miss Ellen Mikkelson is visiting visit-ing with relatives in Nephi. Miss Maxine Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Olson, and Miss Faye Collard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. June Collard, left Wednesday for Salt Lake City where they expect to find employment. em-ployment. Mrs. Caroline Llewellyn has returned home from Mill Valley, Calif., where she has been visiting visit-ing for sometime with her daughter, Mrs. Kate O'Conner, who accompanied her home. Mr. and Mrs. John J. Oldroyd and daughter, Jessie spent Thurs day in Salt Lake City. Elder McKay Larsen of Moroni Mo-roni was the speaker at Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday. Elder Larsen recently returned from a mission to the Northwestern States where he has labored as an L. D. S. missionary for the past two years. Mr. and Mrs. Hilford Anderson visited during the week with relatives rel-atives in Ephraim and Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lynn Rasmussen has returned re-turned to her home in Salt Lake City after visiting for sometime with her mother, Mrs. H. V. Yorgason. Yor-gason. Mrs. Rhoda Robertson entertained enter-tained the K. K. Club members at her home Thursday afternoon. Lieutenant and Mrs. Newell Nelson of Duke Field, Texas are visiting relatives and frineds in Fountain Green. Mrs. Matilda Collard is visiting visit-ing with relatives in Salt Lake City. A fire of unknown origin started Monday morning in the field owned by Clair Collard. Hay haulers near by soon extinguished ex-tinguished the flames and very little damage was done. Elda and Geniel Lund, daughters daugh-ters of Mr. Nek Lund of Salt Lake City are spending their vacation va-cation with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Lund. Mrs. Lottie Barentsen is visiting visit-ing with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Carver and family m Nephi. Mrs. Atheleen Shepherd and daughter of Salt Lake City visited vis-ited Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Holman. Miss Lois Darlene Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Stewart of Magna, is spending her vacation with her cousin, Delores Lund of Fountain Green. The Jolley Kru club met at the home of Erma Ivory of Fountain Green Thursday, June 24th. A program of 500 was played and prizes were awarded. First prize was given to Mrs. Mary Peel Mikkelson and the consolation to Mrs. Merline Morgan. Miss Lizetta Seely of Mt. Pleasant was a special guest. |
