Show Sarah Elizabeth L. Averett Passes Away at Family Home Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Larter Averett, 77, died Monday morn-i morn-i ing at the family home at 305 South Fourth East street after a long illness incident to age. Mrs. Averett was born in Moroni, Mo-roni, September 14, 1685, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Armintage Larter. Her mother died when Mrs. Averett was only six weeks old and she was reared in the family of John and Susan Barton. She was married to William Alma Averett March 13, 1883, and they were the parents of nine children. Mr. Averett died September 19, 1941. Mrs. Averett served many year.s as a Relief society teacher in the South L D S ward. 1 She is survived by three sons, Alden Averett of Hemet, Calif.; Royal Averett and Lynne Averett, city policeman ot Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted this afternoon at 2 p. m. in the South Ward chapel by Harry G. Ericksen of the ward bishopric. The choir sang, "Resting Now From Care And Sorrow" and Elder Eld-er Herbert Farnsworth. The choir then sang, "Abide With Me." The speakers were Bishop A. L. Peterson, Elder A. H. Anderson and President H. C. Jabos. Opal Scoville sang a solo, "Go-in "Go-in Home," and James Monsen, Mrs. Ruth Jones and Mrs. Keith Allred sang, "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Elder William Lake offered the closing prayer. The grave in the city cemetery was dedicated by Patriarch Arthur Ar-thur O. Neilson and burial was under dirction of the Jacobs Mortuary. |
