Mrs. Eva Erickson left Monday to visit her daughter and family, ivirs. iMaine ivxorron at. sunnysiue, Washington. Mrs. Erickson will also visit relatives in Salt Lake City before going to Washington. She learned recently her niece, Mrs. Eva Kimber Emms, has been badly injured in a Salt Lake City accident last week. The extent of her injuries are not as yet known. She is in the Holy Cross hospital. Mrs. Emms was married recently to Kenneth Emms at Salt Lake City. She is a daughter of Gilbert Nyberg of this city. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Robinson Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Puzey, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thurmond Thur-mond of Magna, Utah. Boys leaving recently for employment em-ployment at the Deseret Livestock Live-stock Company are: Junior Full-raker, Full-raker, Theron Draper, Ruel All-red, All-red, Jack Edmunds, Russell All-red All-red and Levoy Hansen. Russell Aiken, Connell Osborne Kenneth Osborne and Keith Sorensen Sor-ensen left Monday for employment employ-ment in Gunnison. Mr. and Mrs. Marsden Allred attended the Baccalaureate Exercises Ex-ercises Sunday at the B. Y. U. Mr. Allred, "Principal of the Mt. Pleasant Hamilton school, will i graduate Wednesday and receive his degree of Bachelor of Science I from the B. Y. U. Mrs. Allred ac- ' companied him to Provo. I The Deacons Quorum, also the Teachers Quorum have organ ized Baseball teams and will play games during the summer. William E. Robinson Observes 85th Birthday Anniversary William E. Robinson became eighty-five years of age Thursday. Thurs-day. He was born in Spring City June 5, 1862, a son of John and Emma Lucas Robinson. His father fa-ther was one of the early pioneers pio-neers and a gunsmith by trade. His mother was one of the early Milliners of this comunity. Among the many church offices of-fices held by Mr. Robinson are: President of the Teachers Quorum, Quo-rum, president of the Y. M. M. I. A. in which he served for three years. His next apointment was a missionary of the Mutual in which he served in Cache valley and Idaho. He was first couselor in the Sunday School Superin-tendency, Superin-tendency, also first assistant in the Stake Sunday School. He then served as ward Sunday School Superintendent for 1? years. A member of the Stake High Council, Home Missionary, chairman of the Geneological committee. For more than thirty years he has been President of the ward choir and for 73 years a member of that organization He was chairman of the Sunday School Enlistment committee and one of the members of the Old Peoples committee. Mr. Robinson Rob-inson served on a mission tc Colorado and Wyoming. In civic affairs he was a City Coucilman four terms and' a County Road Supervisor. He was married to Lovina S. Allred November 22 in the Salt Lake Endowment House. They have lived together sixty-tour years. Their four children are: Mrs. Ruth Osborne, Mrs. Bertha Blain, and Leonard Robinson of this city, Mrs. Emma Puzey of Magna. There are 10 grandchildren grandchil-dren living and 19 great grandchildren grand-children and one great great grandchild. A grandson, Billie Blain is serving in the Army i Washington, and a great grand son, Ted Osborne is serving ir. the Army of Occupation in Germany. |
