Show Army Sets 35 Miles As Speed Limit For AH Vehicles To Save Rubber A speed limit of 35 miles an hour has been set by the War Department for all Army automotive auto-motive vehicles within the continental conti-nental United States except when for urgent military reasons higher high-er speeds are essential, Colonel I Frank W. Wright, Commanding I Officer, Army Air Base, Salt Lake City, Utah, announced this week. This action was taken to conserve con-serve rubber, since speeds above 35 miles per hour cause rapid vearing away of tread rubber on ires. The order applies to both go- and truck vehicles. |
