Show Infantile Paralysis Chapter Holds Their Annual Meeting The Sanpete County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Inc., held their annual meeting September 28, 1942 in the Manti High School. The members at this meeting advocated that there is a first line of defense aganst an invasion inva-sion of infantile paralysis. It is knowledge of its possible presence, pres-ence, its cause, its means of spread and what can be done in the way of treatment. Infantile paralysis is a communicable com-municable disease. It occurs most often in the summer months and early fall, commonly among children. In the beginning it resembles re-sembles many other contagious diseases. - Many of these symptoms symp-toms are not unlike those in the common upsets to which children are subject, but the most serious sign is the stiffness in the spine and neck and the weakening and paralysis of the arms and legs and other muscles. It can happen hap-pen here, and every precaution should be taken to prevent your child becoming crippled through this dreaded disease. Any suspicious sus-picious symptoms warrant you calling your family physician immediately. im-mediately. One case has been reporoted in . the northern part of our county for this month. |
