Explains An unusual, expensive, and annoying interruption to electric elec-tric service on the Telluride Power main forty four thousand volt system occurred around 10:50 the morning of Friday, August 20, officials said this week. Workmen threshing grain near a forty-four thousand volt line west of Ephraim built up a straw pile under the line which came in contact with the high voltage wires, setting the stack 'on fire and burning down one iof the conductors. ! It was some little time before I Mr. Jensen, City Electrician of Ephraim, could be contacted by the workmen and the necessary i switches opened so that the j faulted line could be disconnected discon-nected from the rest of the system sys-tem and normal operating serv- ice resumed. Meantime the .cities of Mt. Pleasant, Ephraim, and Manti were disconnected from Telluride system and Gun-i Gun-i nison and Salina were without j power for a period of nearly i two hours. i |
