Show Spring City B. Y. Allred, 86 Will Be Feted Among the eldest of the male members of this city is Brigham Y. Allred who will reach his eighty-sixth birthday, Wednesday. Wednes-day. Hii family will pay him honor on that day. Mr. Allred was born at Ephraim, Eph-raim, August 25, 1862, a son ot James T. S. and Eliza Mainwar-ing Mainwar-ing Allred. The father wa.s an early colonizer and Indian interpreter in-terpreter and the mother joined the church in England and after af-ter arriving 'in America became a cook in the Nauvoo mansion. Both parents were members of the Mormon Battalion. While a young boy Mr. Allred lived in Circle Valley where his father was called on a mission to the Indians. He has lived the majority ma-jority of his life in this city. Through the work of his father with the Indians he became acquainted with many of the early Indian chieftans and their activities with the settlers. He has had as his occupation, occupa-tion, that of farming and working work-ing in the early lumber industry. indus-try. He has been a faithful member of the L. D. S. Church and served as a Ward teacher form any years. He was married mar-ried to Christina Neilsen. She passed away some years ago. They were the parents of eight living children, Mrs. Joseph F. Hansen, Earl and Ives Allred, Spring City, Mrs. Jack Ezell and Hugo Allred, Salt Lake city and Sanford Allred, Mt. Pleasant. There are 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. . Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stewart of Benjamin, Utah, are the proud parents of a new baby girl born July 26. This is the first baby of the Stewarts. The mother was formerly Miss Lois Thompson Thomp-son of this city. James Thomp-sen Thomp-sen of this city is a grandfather grand-father of the new baby. Miss Francis Thompson has recently enjoyed a trip of several sev-eral months to Yellowstone National Na-tional Park and vicinity. (Continued on back page.) |
