Show Plane Crash Kills Pilot at Mt. Pleasant Lowell Floyd Brown, 21, 145-Ave.. 145-Ave.. Hit By Crosswind Witnesses said the plane, a PT-19 light army trainer, apparently appar-ently came in for a landing at too low an altitude and crashed when caught in a strong cross vind. It landed nose first on the side of the road near the edge of the field and then plowed through the field fence. Mr. Brown, who immediately before the fatal accident had taken up V. II. Gunderson. father of Jay, had a commercial pilot's license from the Thompson Flying school. Maj. E. E. Hughes, senior aeronautical aero-nautical inspector, and Joe Ber-gin, Ber-gin, state aeronautical director, reported Sunday night there were no violationsof civil aeronautical regulations, following an investigation investi-gation of the crash. Born May 22, 1925 Lowell Floyd Brown was born May 22, 1925, in Blackfoot, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Brown, Sr. He graduated from Blackfoot high school in June, 1942. Surviving besides his parents are 11 sisters and brothers, Mrs. James Knowles, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Frank Zitler, Richmond; Billy Bil-ly Jane, Mary Ann, Shirley, Chester, Ches-ter, Jayson, Lawrence, Max and Main Brown, all of Blackfoot, and Charles Brown, wdth the armed forces in the China area. |
