Show Hannah Hafen Wins International Art Prize Hannah Hafen of San Francisco, California, an art student at the Presentation Convent and Academy at Turk street and Masonic avenue, aven-ue, has been declared winner of the second prize of the international interna-tional art contest conducted in art schools in the United States and abroad under the auspices of the World Fellowship Congress. Hundreds Hun-dreds of students of all nations participated. The award was a silver medal with a dove of peace and an olive branch. The San Francisco convent art student's winning subject was a textile design in the abstract with twenty-five colors, 9 by 12 feet. The medal was presented to Miss Hafen by Evan S. Lovett, chairman of the World Fellowship Congress. The contest was held with the object of bringing together to-gether the students of the world through the universal medium of art in the promotion of International Interna-tional peace and good fellowship. Hannah Hafen is a daughter of Jacob Hafen, who died in France. She was a former resident of Mt. Pleasant and is now about 16 years of age. |
