Show News In Biief It ij estimated by the - farm credit administration that 45 per cent cf the farms in the state of Utah are mortgaged. This is slightly slight-ly above the average in the coun-tiy coun-tiy but at the same time is one and one-half per cent below that of the state of California,. The annual carrying charge of this volume of mortgaged real estate es-tate is alut $3,330,000, it is said. Utah sheepmen financing through a Utah company which disccunts with the intermediate credit bank of Berkeley, marketed 20,000 head of lambs as of October 1, for a total to-tal return of $115,000. This represents repre-sents an average of $5.71 per head and an approximate six to eight and a half cents per pound. It is estimated these same sheepmen sheep-men have a marketable lamb crop of 225,000, leaving mr.re than 200,-000 200,-000 to go to market. They expect to realize an additional $1,000,000 from such sales. From these same flocks, 166,000 pounds of wool have already been sold on the open market at abcut 30 cents a pound, while from the first of the year to October first, 2,850,000 pounds of wool are on consignment. |
