Show j FAIRVIEW ! i By Special Correspondence Mayor H. P. Hansen announces that the public works program commenced Monday morning, No-vemler No-vemler 27th. 31 men are employed. The woik will ii.clude the Improvement Improve-ment of streets and public grounds. This is under the supervision of the relief committee. Honoring the 100th annWcnaiy of the birth of C. K. Hansen, a family reunion of his relatives was held in the home formerly owned by Mr. Hansen, now owned by his grandson, Newel Cox, at Fairvlew, on November 30th. Thirty-five descendants de-scendants attended. Dinner was served and a program given. Songs, speeches and readings were included, in-cluded, also a poem by Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Cox. Six of Mr. Hansen's grand children gave sketches and incidents in the life of their grandfather. grand-father. Mr. Hansen joined the church in Denmark, and came to Utah In 1867. He and his wife attended the first meeting ever held in the great Mormon tabernacle. They came to Fairvlew, where ten children were born to them. He was leader of an orchestra, also choir leader, ward clerk, county assessor, school trustee. trus-tee. A shoemaker by trade, he made shoes for the stores, and was a store clerk for several years. He has 6 children, 31 grand-children, and 29 great grand-children, living. The genealogical committee ot Faii-view South ward gave the program in the ward meeting Sunday. Sun-day. A talk on genealogy was given giv-en by Heber Mower, who also read a revelation given to Pres. Wilford Woodruff. A quartette, entitled en-titled "When Jesus Shall Come in His Glory," was rendered by Ama-sa Ama-sa Rasmussen, H. P. Hansen, Malt-land Malt-land Graham, and Leland Neilson. Golden Carlston spoke on salvation for the dead. The final number was a mixed quartette, under direction of H. P. Hansen. 'Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jorgenscn of Provo spent Thanksgiving day at ibe home of Mr and Mrs. Clar ence Twpiu, Mrs. HoraMj Cox and Mr and Mrs. Danver Cox oi Buhl, Idahc, are guests of Patrlauh and Mrs. Jordan Brady. Mrs. Alva Clement and son Boyd, who spent the last week with Fair-view Fair-view relatives, returned to her home in Magna this week. Mrs. Lizzie Lassen entertained at a quilting party Friday evening. Luncheon was served to Mrs, Qrsen Miner, Mrs. Lizzie Cox, Mrs. Albert Al-bert Norman, Mrs. Sena Lassen and Mrs, Selma Hansen. Mr. Oscar Norman and Mrs. Olive Ol-ive Pritchett were married in the Manti temple Wednesday, Nov. 29. A reception was given at the Pritchett Prit-chett home Nov. 30. Dinner was served to a large unmber of relatives rela-tives and friends. Some useful and beautiful presents were given. |
