' By Special Correspondence j On returning home from Delta, where they had enjoyed a Thanksgiving Thanks-giving dinner, Mrs. Mina Larsen, Mrs. Viviean Larsen and Blain Larcen suffered shock and bruises when the car driven by Mr. Larsen got beyond control on a slipp?ry road near Scipio, and crashed Into In-to a hillside, where a large boulder bould-er haulted the machine's progress. No one was seiously hurt, but Mr. Larsen's car was badly damaged. The ladies were taken into Nephl by a passing bus, and remained In that city overnight. Friday evening of last week the Mutual officers sponsored an entertainment enter-tainment at the Victory Theatrj. A Christmas play and program were presented to a good house, the proceeds going to Christmas presents pres-ents to our mlssionaries-Bruce Ellis, in Switzerland; Raymond Allred, in tlis Southern States Mission. Two of this city's oldet male pioneers celebrated their 83rd anniversary. an-niversary. Hans Neilsen observed his on. the last day of Novomber; Andrew Madsen on the third day of December. Family dinners were enjoyed in honor of each. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chrlstenaen and daughter Dorothy of Ephraim were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mm. Carl Petersen on Thanksgiving day. An old fashioned dinner was served in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Allred on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiv-ing. All their children, with theli families, were present Delbert Thompson, and the Misses Mis-ses Geneil, Muriel, and Luella Thompson of Ogden visited here over the holidays with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Dahl nr.d Mr. and Mrs. Anders Thompson. Thomp-son. Mrs. Marie J. AUred was visited on Thanksgiving day by her children, chil-dren, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Edson Allred of Tooele, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie AUred of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jensen of Charleston, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Brotherson, and Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Brotherson of Moroni, Mo-roni, who all enjoyed a dinner In their old home. Mrs. Clarence Mickelsen left last week for Salt Lake City, where her husband preceded her for medical medi-cal treatment for his hand which was badly cut in a woodsaw about Gregson Schofield and family returned home Monday from a visit vi-sit with relatives in Idaho and northern nor-thern Utah. Don Strate, who is a student at the University of Utah, spent the Thanksgiving holiday visiting his mother, Mrs. Christine Strate. i The Sunday school gave a dancing dan-cing party Turt'-.day at 6 p. m. for children; in the evening for the grown-ups. Refreshments were served. ser-ved. Mrs. Stlna Allied has returned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Harry Hancen and family, in Evanston, Wyoming. Mrs. Margaret Griffiths has returned re-turned home from a 2 months' visit vis-it with her children in Delta. She was accompanied here by Mr. and Mrs. Hayburn. Mis. Wallace Greaves and children chil-dren of Eureka were guests last week of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Blaln. Farrell Sorenison returned last week from a visit in Duluth with friends and missionaries. On Thanksgiving day, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Larsen had as dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olsen and children of Gunnison, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Jackson and children of Ephraim. Mrs. Easten Kelsey, her adopted daughter Ruby and Aletha Hansen Han-sen attended funeral services at Bingham last week for Mrs. Helen Dennis, who was the mother of the girls. While away, they visited for a few days in Salt Lake City witr relatives. A taxpayers' meeting was held in the City Hall Wednesday evening eve-ning for an open discussion on th. question, "Shall I pay taxes, or .shall I not?" I |
