Show I Our Enormous Fire Loss More than half a billion dollars worth of property goes up in smoke every year in the United Sta'es. More than 14,000 lives are lost through fires that occur, many of them, through carelessness. The figures will piobably Indicate a higher less this year. The campaign cam-paign for carefulness seems to have missed a few cylinders. The average citizen insists upon taking too nmny chances and thi fire demons de-mons burns up too much property. The figures carry a lesson to the people of this valley. It is the duty of every citizen to do his or her part to cut down the enormous enor-mous economic waste. The only way to do this is to practice carefulness yourself. Don't bother about neighbor John, tr Sister Sue; get lined up on the need of precaution and refrain frcm Joining the ranks of these who wantonly and needlessly cause the thousands of fires which occur through carelessness. |
