Show Improvements To Be Made on Highway 89 While in the offices of the Utah State Road Commission Tuesday, Burke McArthur urged the Commission Commis-sion to begin at once to repair and oil the road from Thistle southward and the Commission agreed to do so at the earliest possible date, which would be in about ten days. Following this visit Chief Engineer, Engin-eer, K. C, Wright wrote the Pyramid Pyra-mid the following information for the benefit of those who are interested inter-ested in route 89. The content of the letter is as follows: "In the last issue of your paper 1 have just read of the remarkable run made by Mr. Gay in fifteen hours between Yellowstone Park and the Grand Canyon; on highw'ay U. S. 89. I also noted your comment com-ment regarding- the oiling of this highway. "At the present time this department depart-ment has under way two contracts in Circleville Canyon, totaling $183,-598. $183,-598. This of course is a very heavy grading project, involving the reconstruction re-construction of the highway through the canyon. On October 8th the Comnmrsion will open bids for the oiling of the entire section between Panguitch and Circleville Canyon. Also, withir.l the next ten days or two weeks we will advertise for construction the section between Indianola and Thistle, on the same highway. "This will leave for next year's program the section) between 'Indianola 'In-dianola and Fairview, and1 the section sec-tion through Circleville Canyon which under the present project is being realigned and graveled, preparatory pre-paratory to oiling.
