Show FOUNTAIN GREEN I By Special Correspondence A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Coombs, September 24. Mrs.,Lyda Guymon spent Sunday in Moroni where her little grandson, grand-son, D.nnell, age 6, was operated en for appendicitis at the Dice Hospital. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blackham of Moroni. He is improving very nicely now. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Oldroyd' entertained at a shower last Friday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Byce Jensen of Moroni. An excellent excel-lent program was enjoyed, delicious refreshments were served, followed by a dance in the Amusment Hall. Many beautiful gifts were received by the young couple. A large number num-ber of people were present. Mrs. Earl Ivory has received new equipment and is now operating a beauty parlor at the home of Mrs. Merce Ivory. Don Nielson andl Clifton Hansen are building new homes which will be ready for occupancy by winter. Eardell Collard is also having some building and remodeling done. Maurice Jackson enjoyed a party last Friday when eight of his young boy friends helped to celebrate his eighth birthday anniversary. Games were played and refreshments were served. Mrs. Mercie Ivory is visiting with relatives in Salt Lake. A large number cf relatives and friends attend funeral services on MonoJay for Burke Lamb, age 3, of Wales. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lamb. The home of J. C. Jensen which lias been occupied for some time by Mr. and Mrs. Randall Christiansen, Christi-ansen, caught on fire Monday. The blaze was soon extinguished by the large number of men who rendered render-ed assistance. Little carnage was d'one. The Gloom Busters club was entertained en-tertained last Friday at the home cf Mrs. Averil Larson. The afternoon after-noon was spent in chatting after which a delicious hot dinner was served. The Sorosis club members met this week at the heme of Mrs. Pearl Holman. The following day the members with their husbands erijoyed a lunch at the Big Springs. The west mountain is beginning again to change its colors, and it is a most worthwhile ride through the canyon to see the wonderful work of nature. |
