Show Collection Day By Power House Bill ' (W. C. ANDERSON) I Good Times dropped off in town today. I knew him years ago. Just call-in ' 'round to get my pay, A dollar or two, you know. In a day or two he came again ; Then I begin to holler. His old mug gives me a pain. I give 'im another dollar. II Then he quit comin' 'round his self, Just sent out his clique. T got the sock down off the shelf; He then worked it slick. Old man Tax was first around With a list too long to swaller. "Dig 'em up, you funny clown!" This bunch was all dollars. Ill The next, guy I ihought I'd slope, Interest was his name. He went deep into the sock Without a bit of shame. The Grocer said, "I'll not be stung, This other guy I'll f oiler. I'll take a wad if I am hung." And it was also dollars. IV Holy smoke! There 'was a flock. They tumbled left and right. The way they tore up that old sock, Not a piece was left in sight. Settin' down in my easy chair I loosened up my collar. Then in it came through the air. They also want the dollar. V Now they want to give 113 Beer. That won't work at all. The dime that's left won't give much cheer; Their Beers will be too small. When you die you think your through. Nix! You'll have a caller. Yes, he comes. They always do. It's another dollar. VI You're not through by one or two, As there is still the Rock. It's planted there to remember you; You are of the Flock. As time goes on you are forgot, Though your name's cut deep and holler; The bill that's left behind is not, If it is only a dollar. VII I am wondering when that is done If that can be all. Can there be a forgotten one ; ' . Who forgot to call? When you come to the Pearly Gate If Saint Peter will holler, "Say, you guy, you're too late Unless you've get a dollar!" |
