Show Timpanogos Stake Mia Maids Hold Special 'Night' Wednesday, Oot. 21 was "Dear to My Heart Night" for all Mia Maid girls and their mothers of Timpanogos Stake and invited honored guests. The affair was under the direction of Stake Mia Maid leader, Carol Chidester, with Mia Maid leaders of the Various wards in the stake assuming as-suming different responsibilities. The purpose of this .efvening is to tighten the bond of love and understanding between mother and daughter and to give a clear picture of the law of chastity. At 7:30 in the Recreation Hall at the Stake House, the Mia 'Maids served their mothers. The serving table, presided over by leaders of the Fifth and Grove Wards, Glenna Oveson and Beul-ah Beul-ah Whiting were covered with a lace cloth over pink with a lovely love-ly centerpiece of pink roses. Assisting in the serving were all of the ward leaders. They are Margene Anderson, First; Elda Walker and Fern Maxfield, Second; Geraldine Christiansen, Third; Faye Brooks, Fourth; Af-ton Af-ton Southam, Sixth; LaRae Hard-man, Hard-man, Seventh; Maxine Davis, Lindon; Fern Engh, Lindon Second; Sec-ond; Blanche Warnick and Carol Ackerman, Manila. Piano music was played during serving by Vickie Jaynes. After the- refreshments everyone every-one assembled in the Chapel where they enjoyed a very inspirational in-spirational program. Preliminary music was played by Connie Dickey and greetings given by Carol Chidester. Judy Garvin offered prayer. Talks were given toy Linda Mc-Causland, Mc-Causland, Beverly Fordham, Faye Fordham and by guest speaker Lillian Boyce. Musical numbers were given by Grove Ward Mia Maids, an ac-cordian ac-cordian selection by Donna Lou Butt and a piano and organ duet by Kathryn Ann Rasband and Joyce Davis. Benediction was pronounced pro-nounced toy Pearl Fowlke. The stake leader presented Sis-' Sis-' ter Boyce with a bouquet of roses. She also expressed her appreciation apprec-iation to her ward Mia Maid leaders lead-ers for the wonderful work they are doing for the igirls, to the Stake YWMIA presidency for their support, and to Ruby Fu-igal Fu-igal for her work on the programs pro-grams and invitations and presented pre-sented each of them with a rose corsage. - |
