Hunter, prominent promin-ent Los Angeles attorney and businessman, has been named a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. . Mr. Hunter, a native of Boise. Idaho, was approved in his new position by a vote of the Church in its three-day semi-annual conference, con-ference, Oct. 9-11. The new apostle fills a vacancy in the Council of Twelve occasioned occa-sioned by the advancement last June of Henry D. Moyle to the position of second counselor to President David O. McKay. Mr. Hunter has been a resident of Southern California since 1928. He was engaged in banking for a time, then became a successful corporation lawyer. For the past nine years he has been president of the Pasadena Stake of the Church and prior to that had served as a bishop in the Los Angeles area. |
