Show FFA Judging Team Wins Silver Rating In National Meet Pleasant Grove High School FFA Meats Judging- team returned re-turned Sunday from Kansas City after winning- a Silver rating. Team members were Lee Jepp-son, Jepp-son, Dan Adams and LeRoy Jacklin. They arrived in Kansas City Tuesday and judged Wednesday. The contest consists of identification identifi-cation of all wholesale and retail meat cuts, grading of ten beef carcases and the placing of six carcas classes. Thursday night the Sirloin Club of Kansas City honored them at a dinner. The next morning a breakfast was held in their honor and the awards made. It was at this awards breakfast that the silver rating was announced, Dan and Lee each received the Silver and LeRoy the Bronze award. In all national contests there are five ratings; Gold, Silver, Bronze, honorable mention and participation. Enroute many stops were made at points of interest. Team members would like to thank the County Commissioners and the Alpine School Board of Education for making the trip possible. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Banks made the trip with the team as their coaoh and chaperone. |
