Show Vikings Go Down To Tiger Second Half Scoring Surge A last-half Tiger uprising cheated cheat-ed the rieasant Grove Viking's of their second league victory last Friday afternoon on the Lincoln field. Udell Westover's boys took the contest 19 to 7. The win made it four straight for the Lincoln boys. Payson, Springville and BY High won their games with comparative ease. Lincoln came from behind, after the Vikings gave the Tigers a good scare in the first half. Dave Har-mer Har-mer scored for Pleasant Grove from the five yard marker, after Paul Anderson, alert Viking lineman, line-man, had blocked a Tiger punt. Lincoln came back in the first quarter with a 65-yard pass play, Bandley to Farley, but the try for extra point was missed. Score at the half, Lincoln 6, P. G. 7. In the second half Bandley passed pass-ed to Moon and the big fullback eluded two tacklers and raced 50 yards for the score. Bandley hit Evan Harding in the end zone for the third touchdown. Gourdeen kicked the extra point. Final score was Lincoln 19; Pleasant Grove 7. The Vikings will entertain the winless American Fork Cavemen Thursday at 2:30 at the local ball park. The game was moved up from Friday on account of "Deer Season." Results of tthe game were not available at press time. |
