Show Lindon Primary Classes Hold Combined Jubilee A combined Silver Jubilee Party was held in the Lindon Ward Friday Fri-day evening by the Lindon Ward Primary and Lindon Second Ward Primary. This is an annual party where the Bluebird and Seagull groups welcome the Larks into the homebuilding program. The girls sang the welcome song and the Lindon Second Ward President, Pres-ident, Doris Hooley, presented a welcome address. The president of the Lindon Primary presented two service award pins, one to Diane Walker and one to Joyce Liljen-quist. Liljen-quist. These girls attended 75 per cent of the primary meetings and worked as Junior teachers along with a regular teacher, to qualify for this award. Diane completed her requirements require-ments in the Lindon Ward Primary while Joyce filled here partly in the Tooele Ward while staying with her grandmother and completed com-pleted it in the Lindon ward when she returned home. During the evening the girls prepared pre-pared and presented the "Gateway Ceremony" where the Larks come into the group. This was followed by fun songs led by Irene Thompson Thomp-son and Marilyn Walker. Special guests for this occasion were the girls parents, the bishoprics bishop-rics of the two wards, and the Primary Pri-mary Stake Leaders. Refreshments were served on a long table decorated dec-orated with beautiful autumn flowers flow-ers and two lovely birthday cakes, each with 25 candles. Over one hundred persons watched watch-ed as the bishops lit the candles and the girls of each ward gathered gather-ed around and blew them out. Eulene Hicken was in charge of the lovely decorations and the teachers tea-chers and presidencies of each ward furnished the refreshments. As a closing number the Larks sang the "Larks Thank You" song. This impressive ceremony will long be remembered by the girls and their guests. |
