V : NEW THIRD WARD BISHOPRIC Sustained as bishop of the Pleasant Grove Third Ward Sunday was Willis Banks, center, with Parley Christiansen, left, first, and Glade Hilton, second sec-ond counselor. Ward was divided to create new Sixth ward and old bishopric released. Pleasant Grove Third Ward Is Divided; New Sixth Ward Created v A new ward, Pleasant Grove Sixth, was created Sunday evening even-ing when the. Third ward held a special conference, and -was divided divi-ded into two wards. All of the original Third ward west of 5th East street, now comprises the Third ward, while everything east of 5th East goes to make up the new Sixth Ward. Under the direction of the Timpanogos Tim-panogos stake presidency, G. Albert Al-bert Spencer was named bishop of the Sixth ward with Eugene Bezzant, First and George Smith Second counselors. Sustained as bishop of the Third ward was Willis M. Banks, with Parley Christianson first and Glade Hilton, Second counselors. Released with a vote of appreciation apprec-iation were Bishop Calvin Walker and his counselors Theodore Ree:, and Bryan Fugal. President Merrill N. WaiTuck conducted the conference and oth er speakers heard from were members mem-bers of the outgoing bishopric, also al-so the new bishoprics and President Presi-dent Lewis E. Olpin and Martin S. Christianson, former bishop of the Third ward. Invocation was offered by former for-mer bishop Neil Y. Fugal and benediction pronounced by former bishop Joseph S. Walker. Music was furnished by the Third ward male chorus, directed by Carl Ringger, accompanied by Geniel Fugal. |
