Show Cadmus Club Has First Meeting Of New Club Year Cadmus Club members and guests held their opening meeting meet-ing on August 26 at the home of Mrs. Carol Jaynes with Mrs. Af-ton Af-ton Miller as co-hostess. A short business session was conducted by club president Afton Miller, who also welcomed club members and guests. The time was turned over to EfSle W. Adams, and Ella H. Jackson, who will direct the study for the coming year, "The Ford Foundation." Mrs. Jackson introduced intro-duced the course of study with these words, "If you wish to live , long you must be willing to grow old." Therefore the choice for the topic of this year will be "The Years Ahead." Discussions will be informal and with contributions contri-butions by all. Mrs. Jackson left these thoughts with her audience, "A successful later life is something to be obtained by planning and effort and is not as a rule a free gift. Right now, whatever age we may be, is the time to take stock of our resources and interests. in-terests. " Refreshments were enjoyed by club members and the following guests: Cleone Kirk, Ida West, Vera Wagstaff, Donna Ash, Marietta Mari-etta Gamett, Zelda Anderson, Ida Brimhall, Myrtle Boren. Next meeting will be Sept. 23 - with Mrs. Elaine D. Walker. The disoussion topic will ibe "Middle A.ge the New Prime of Life." 1 ' |
