Show City Court, Police List Activities In Pleasant Grove for August Thirty-seven automobile drivers appeared in Judge C. O. Newman's New-man's City Court during Aug. to answer charges of violating traffic traf-fic regulations. As usual, the large majority of 'the law-breakers were speeders. An even 30 were haled in by the police officers of-ficers for stepping too heavily on the gas pedal. Other traffic offenses, according accord-ing to the Aug. report were No operators lioense, 3; driving with expired license, 1; failure to yield, 1 ; improper parking, 1 ; and parking park-ing in pedestrian lane, 1. Found all doors open at new high school,' notified custodian. Three bogus check cases in one day. Tried to find a .runaway girl for a mother in Prescott, Arizona. Arizo-na. Helped with Lindon parade. Listened to a man regarding theft of a box of cigars. Investigated theft of materials from houses under construction. Secured the return of a blanket taken from a parked car. Found a young boy who failed to come home from Mutual. One man was arraigned for obscene conduct and there were one dismissal and three civil actions. ac-tions. Fines and forfeitures totaled total-ed $481.00 for the month, Judge Newman's report shows. Otherwise there was no letup in the non-arrest cases 'handled during the past month. People still continued to call police officers of-ficers to help them solve personal person-al problems. A few of these are listed. Gave a man a bed in jail at his request. Gave advice to a woman who reported theft of garden vegetables. Stopped water that was flooding a city street. Apprehended two of the boys who had broken Central Sohool windows. Talked to a woman who had "Peeping Tom" trouble. Woman Wo-man reported neighbors burning garbage; told them to put the fire out. Stopped a man who was making a nuisance of himself. him-self. Phoned to inform a man of the death of his father. Notified the road supervisor to fix a bad hole on Battle Creek Drive. Soatteired a group of dogs which was keeping keep-ing a woman awake. Investigated report of prowlers in a local Doctor's office. Settled "Inlaw trouble" for a woman. Helped First Ward Primary ladies with kiddie parade. Advised Ad-vised custodian that lights were burning in Stake House all night. Oheoked out two men sleeping in a car at ball park. Boys throwing throw-ing rocks at cars from underpas.s, took them to their parents. Pulled Pull-ed a car from a ditch at 7th East. |
