Show Community Fair Opens Today At High School Pleasant Grove's greatest fair opens today. The exhibits are all up at ten o'clock this morning and the judging will be finished by noon when the public is invited to come and see them. George Jaynes, chairman of the fair board, has done yeoman service ser-vice in planning and organizing the details. The enthusiasm of the department chairmen, the work of the committeemen and the response re-sponse of the townspeople have combined to bring about this outstanding out-standing display. The High School gym, the city park, the old city ball grounds, all are full of the products of the community and speak eloquently of the industry and prosperity of the town. Mr. Jaynes says "The best response re-sponse we have ever had from the organizations has been given this year. I believe the fair will be as good as the pear crop, and it is estimated at 140 per cent. The ladies will make the pie contest another an-other 140 per cent and the ball game will be a ringer." Harold Woolston, president of the Lions Club, says, "The Lions Club is happy to sponsor the Fair again this year. We want to thank all who have helped to plan it and the community whose cooperation has made it success. If there are any changes that should be made for another year, please let us know." The Review congratulates the Club and the community on their fine achievement. |
