JOHNSON Openhouse Will Honor Couple At Golden Wedding Celebration Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Johnson of Pleasant Grove, Utah are to be honored guests September 16, 1954. Their Golden Wedding date gives reason for the occasion, which will be held at 192 South Main Street, Pleasant Grove, between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to the open house by the sons, Lyean and Eldon and daughters daugh-ters Christie, Estelle and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and family fam-ily request no gifts, please. Mr. Johnson, son of the late Peter and Christine Johnson, was born on the American Fork Bench, Feb. 14, 1882, and married Emma Roberts, daughter of the late John and Eliazbeth Roberts, of American Ameri-can Fork, on Sept. 16, 1904, at the County Court House in Provo. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have been life long members of Pleasant Grove and have contributed greatly great-ly during this time to church and civic affairs. Mr. Johnson supervised the building of the loop road in American Ameri-can Fork Canyon between Mutual Dell and Community Flat. Assisting Assist-ing the late Mr. Vivian West they surveyed the road as at present located, with an eye level. In 1926 and 1927 he surveyed a road from Dutchman Flat to the Yankee Mine and was foreman of the group that built the road. From 1928 to 1942 he hauled ore by team and truck from the mines in American Fork Canyon. He has since been self employed by Johnson and Sons Sand and Gravel. |
