Show Funeral Rites for C. B. Matthews Held Last Wed. Impressive funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Highland ward chapel for Cornelius Corne-lius B. Matthews, native and for most of his lifetime a resident of Pleasant Grove. Prayer in the home was offered by Ira Coltrin ,a brother-in-law. Vocal duet, "O My Father" -was sung by Marie Johnson and Vera Larson, accompanied by Kate Rogers, Rog-ers, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Invocation was offered by Ellsworth Hardy. Opening remarks were made by Bishop Merlin Larson. 1 Other speakers who paid tribute to the memory of Mr. Matthews were Reed O. Walker of Pleasant Grove, Legrande Adamson, former Bishop of Highland Ward and Burton Bur-ton H. Adams of -Pleasant Grove. Lloyd Matthews ,a nephew sang "My Faith In Thee." He was accompanied ac-companied by his mother Mrs. Douglas Matthews. Benediction was pronounced by Walter Adamson and interment directed by Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary Mor-tuary was made in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. August Lewis, a brother-in-law offered the dedicatory dedicat-ory prayer. |
