Show Manila Road Construction Totals 2 Mi!es The Uirivring' and progressive community of Manila will soon boast one of the finest roads in Utah County. Heavy equipment is now at work preparing the roadbed road-bed for a 28-foot strip of oiled road extending from the American Fork Canyon highway to the Utah State Training School, a total distance dis-tance of two miles. The work is being done by the Thorn Construction Co. of Provo and the construction foreman is Bill Clark. "New grades are being established, establish-ed, the numerous annoying dips eliminated and new culverts installed," in-stalled," Mr. Clark said. In addition addi-tion the project involves the removal re-moval of a row of poles by the Utah Power and Light Co. The two-mile secondary highway high-way is a part of the state road system and is being sponsored by the Utah State Road Commission. Mr. Clark stated that he hoped to have the project completed by early September of this year. |
