Past, present and future improvements im-provements at the BYU represent the expenditure of many millions of dollars, but for what better purpose pur-pose could it be spent? The thousands thous-ands of young people who attend this institution of spiritual and intellectual in-tellectual uplift are a living testimony testi-mony of its benefits. Coming as they do from every quarter of the globe, they will become missionaries mission-aries of good will and the Christian Chris-tian way of life. We would be remiss indeed if we in Utah Valley failed to voice our sincere thanks and appreciation apprecia-tion for this great institution and the ideals for which it stands. Communism, the scourge of humanity, hum-anity, depends for its success upon up-on ignorance, and un-Godliness. The Christian religion which recognizes rec-ognizes the sacredness of the human hu-man soul is the last great weapon of humanity in the battle against the purposes of the Kremlin. Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University is a great bastion of hope in this never-ending never-ending struggle. We drove to the Brigham Young University upper campus a few days ago. It had been some weeks since our previous visit. We scarcely scarce-ly knew the place. Where formerly form-erly there were lawns, streets and flowers, new buildings had appeared appear-ed relatively over night. In contemplation of the wonder-changes wonder-changes for the good which is noticeably evident in every phase of the great Mormon University, we are reminded forcibly of the truism that progress is a wonderful wonder-ful thing. It is not so much what we have, but what we do with it, that is important. Brick, stone, and cement are inate and lifeless materials. It is what we do with them that determines the kind of people we are. These materials may be used for the construction of taverns and gambling halls, or for homes, schools, churches and |
