Show 4-H Clubs Hold Achievement Exercises in Manila Last Sunday i-H Clubs of the Tinipanogos Stake hold their achievement program pro-gram Monday evening' at 7:30 in Manila Ward chapel. Miss Julia Ann Warnick presided. Congregational singing was led by Viola Beers and accompanied by Kathleen Allen. The program was as follows: Song, "America." Trayer, Charles Char-les Warnick; musical skit by Busy Nine, Beatrice Fisher's club. Value of club work, Larry Gill-I Gill-I man. Enriching our lives with 4-H ' club work, Karolyn Swenson. Fi- 1 ano solo, Royal S. West. I A parents appreciation of 4-H club training' was given by Hal S. Haycock; Thank you, 4-H leaders, by Diane Warnick. Vocal number num-ber by the Scissors Happy Club, leaders. Mary Harper and Myrle Arniitstead. Special awards and tributes were given by S. R. Boswell and Jen-niev Jen-niev Poulson. Song, "America the Beautiful," congregation. Benediction, Lee Richins. Special awards were: Barbara Swenson for demonstration in Poultry contest, a pressure sauce pan, given by Utah Poultry association assoc-iation and presented by J. Arza Adams, vice president of national Turkey association; Julia Ann Warnick, for state winner in Home grounds beautification, a gold pin, donated by Mrs. Walgren of Chicago Chi-cago and presented by Mrs. Jen-niev Jen-niev Poulson. Julia Ann will also receive a gold wrist watch. - Larry Gillman won an award for Daily Achievement, a medal presented pre-sented by S. R. Boswell. Dan Adams, Ad-ams, third year in Charles War-nick's War-nick's Better Holstein 4-H club; Claudia Fisher, 1st year Home Improvement, Im-provement, Beatrice Fisher's club; Mark Warnick, 1st year Entomology, Entom-ology, Max and Clela Radmall's club. These last named three each received $5.00 savings account given giv-en by the State Banker's association associa-tion and presented by Mr; Smith of the Orem Bank. Mrs. Lurena Warnick, who has supervised the clubs, was awarded the Emerald Clover for 25 years of constant uninterrupted 4-H club work. A beautiful tribute to Mrs. Warnick was paid by Mrs. Poulson Poul-son for her untiring work in behalf be-half of the boys and girls of the community, in helping them to, as it were, glorify rural life. This was followed by a special and more touching tribute by Mrs. Warnick's daughter, Marilyn Walker, who from early childhood remembered her mother's work in 4-H, as well as the boys and girls whom she helped. General committee for the achievement exercises were the club leaders. Ushers were Joan Goode, Joan Haycock, Newell Larson, Lar-son, Mark Warnick, and flowers were arranged by Julia Ann Warnick. |
