Show 25 YEARS AGO In the Review From the Files of The Review Saturday March 2'J, 1980 Mayor Lewis Olpin has offered a $25,00 reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person who stole two lanterns; which were used as a safety precaution pre-caution at an opeii trench near the property of Carl Carlson in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. Miss Genniveve Fugal, accompanied accom-panied by her teacher Miss Jewel Linebaugh, attended the Alpine Distrtict oratorical contest held at the Lincoln High School. Friday. Miss Fugal spoke on the subject, "My Privileges and Obligations Under the Constitution." Manager Albert Van Wagoner announced yesterday that R.C.A. sound equipment is being installed in the local Alhambra Theatre. Said Mr. Van Wagoner, "The invasion of sound in the motion picture industry presents a great problem to the small theatre owner. We hope that the increased increas-ed attendance which -will result, will justify the considerable expenditure ex-penditure made necessary by the changeover." Preparations are now going forward for-ward for the planting of grass, trees and shrubs on the Tabernacle grounds. We are sure that this landscaping program will be just one of many projects of beautifi-cation beautifi-cation around our churches and public buildings. ' The Junior Prom, "Under Venetian Vene-tian Skies," was held last night in the high school gym. Music was furnished by Ralph Miglaccio and his Chicago Hotel Orchestra. At the annual stockholders meeting of the Pleasant Grove Canning Company held Thursday, the following members of the Board of Directors were elected: W. S. Chipman, George H. Dem, J. R. Halliday, Alex Thornton, James H. Walker, A. L. Cullimore, and Albert Anderson. Clifford L. Wright was named Secretary and Manager. The Martin Nielson Auto Company Com-pany of American Fork announced Wednesday that Chevrolet prices begin at $495.00 f.o.b. Flint, Michigan. |
