Show New Lighted Softball Field Is Planned for PI. Grove City Park Plans for the summer program of the Pleasant Grove Activities Association are fast rounding into shape, according to S. Christen-Ben, Christen-Ben, chairman. Mr. Christensen stated Thursday Thurs-day morning that all Softball activities ac-tivities for adults will be moved to the west recreation area. A new diamond will be constructed, lights installed and adequate seating provided. pro-vided. The new Softball set-up will be located in the southeast comer of the property. Junior baseball will continue to be played on the high school campus. cam-pus. As outlined in last week's Review, four Little Leaguer and two Pony League teams will be organized. Bill Lewis and Glen Newman will serve as sponsor-coaches sponsor-coaches of the Pony teams; but recreeation officials are still looking look-ing for ten sponsors-coaches for the Little Leaguers. This is a rare opportunity for men who are interested in-terested in the welfare of boys, to render a valuable service to the youngsters of this community. With a break in the weather, landscaping work will go forward at the west area, according to plan, Mr. Christensen stated. Lawns will be planted, walks laid and a sprinkling system provided. The present scheme of things calls for the construction of tennis courts, croquet fields, picnic tables and swings and slides for the children. "The Activities Committee solicits sol-icits the active support of all individuals in-dividuals and organizations in this most worthwhile undertaking," Mr. Christensen concluded. |
