Show Lindon Lions Hear Talk on Need for Tuberculosis X-ray Guest speaker at the Lindon Linos Club meeting, Thursday evening eve-ning was Joseph G. Carling, Executive Exe-cutive Secretary of the Utah Tuberculosis Tu-berculosis and Health Association from Salt Lakea City. He spoke to the club members on the need of X-rays and the necessity of detecting detect-ing this dread disease as early as possible, if one is stricken with it. He also told of its treatment and presented an enlightening colored film. As a civic club the Lions will support this program on April 11. It is on this day that the Mobile X-ray unit will be located at the Lindon Ward from noon to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. President O. Lee Swenson conducted con-ducted the short business meeting. A committee was appointed to take charge o fthe parking area fencing, graveling and widening of the roadway at the Lindon Park area. To head this committee are: Harold Keetch and H. V. Hold-away. Hold-away. Wesley Swenson was placed in charge of getting locks for the doors of the community building. President S-wenson told the members of the Lions Club convention con-vention that will be held in Cedar City, June 2-3-4. He extended an invitation to all members to make their reservations now and attend the convention together. The next meeting will be held at the community building April 1. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hooley were elected to chairman the foods committee. They will receive assistance as-sistance from other members of the club, whom they wish to call on. The program for the evening will be under the direction of Eric Peterso and Oliver Johnson. Thelma Swenson served light refreshments re-freshments at the close of the meeting. The group met at the community building. |
