Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Seven student teachers from the Education Department of the Brig-hham Brig-hham Young University began their training at the Central and Groveciest Schools last Monday, according to Principal Calvin Walker. The practice teaching will continue until school closes on May 27. The prospective teachers and the grades in which they will take their period of training- are as follows: fol-lows: Marilyn Hales, Third grade; Morria Brady, sixth grade; Mary C. Dorius, second grade; Carol Obert, third grade; Edna Newman, New-man, first grade; George Gibson, sixth grade, and Neldon Stanley, fourth grade. ESN Plans for the Elementary School Spring Festival are now being formulated. for-mulated. Faculty members of the two schools and PTA officers are cooperating in the annual play-day play-day activity. The festival will be held on the Central School grounds; and will include outdoor games of all kinds and Maypole braiding. The activity is scheduled for the first week in May. ESN An extension class which meets each Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at the Central School has been organized or-ganized for the elementary teachers teach-ers of Alpine District. The teachers will be taught by Dr. Babcock of the Brigham Young University on the subject "Science in the Elementary Schools." ESN Mrs. Donna Ash has returned to her sixth grade class after spending spend-ing two months as acting principal of the Geneva School. Mrs. Ash substituted for Principal Thorit Hebertson, while he was serving in the recent session of the Utah legislature. , Mrs. Ash's students have been taught by Mrs. Genevieve Emal of Provo. The boys and girls state that they have enjoyed Mrs. Emal Em-al very much; but are happy that Mrs, Ash has returned. |
