BARTON Reception In Provo Honors Couple Following 'Rites in Salt Lake Temple In solemn rites performed May 27 at the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Carolyn Trotter, lovely daughter of Mrs. Swenson D. Trotter of Provo, and the late Mr. Trotter, became the bride of Richard P. Barton. Elder Raymond H. Clayton Clay-ton officiated. The groom is the son of Mi', and Mrs. George F. Barton of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. The Provo Fifth-Eighth Ward Hall was the scene of a wedding reception Honoring the young couple the same evening. The bride was radiant in a gown she created creat-ed herself of imported Chantilly lace over slipper satin, with a fitted bodice and a gathered skirt of tulle enhanced with panels of the lace. Her fingertip veil of sheer lace-edged illusion fell from a crown of pearls, and she carried a cascade bouquet of white step-hanotis step-hanotis and pink rosebuds surrounding sur-rounding an orchid. Janice Green was the maid of honor, while Carole Curtis, Margie Weight and Bonnie Barton were bridesmaids. The bridal attendants were gowned in pink chambray, ballerina length, and carried pink and wrhite oamafcion corsages. Norman Barton served) his brother broth-er as best man. The mother of the bride was gowned in rose crepe, while Mrs. Barton wore pale blue silk shantung. shan-tung. Both pinned corsages of yellow yel-low vanda orchids to their dresses. dress-es. The wedding party stood before an archway of palm fronds and white carnations, with spring flowers flow-ers in tall standards foi-ming' a division between receiving and serving ser-ving sections. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Stewart, the brides aunt and uncle, un-cle, greeted guests at the door. Presiding at the guest book was DeAn Peters, a cousin of the bride. Mrs. Wendel Collins andl Mrs. Norman Farnsworth were in charge char-ge of the refreshment section, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Gail Taylor, Mrs. Jesse Bushman, Mrs. Edna Crockett Crock-ett and Mrs. Marie Bullock, Serving Serv-ing were Maiy Means, Colleen Weight, Janot Hunter and Mary Whitaker. In the gift room were Gloria Trotter, Ann Nelson, Maxine Trotter, Stella Barton and LeDean Barton, with gift bearers Judy Barton, Jeanne Ann Merrill, Douglas Doug-las Trotter and Judy Hales. Mrs. Stella Peterson was mistress mist-ress of ceremonies for the program, which included a toast to the bride by Mrs. Stella Hudson; a toast to the groom by Mrs. Louise Whitby, a special dance number by the Colleen Collins Dance Studio, and vocal numbers by Candy Fisher, Darrell Frampton and Richard Dastiup. The couple will honeymoon in Southern California, after which Mr. Barton will report for a six-month six-month Army Reserve . service assignment. |
