Show Drive for Funds to Fight Cerebral Palsy Slated for This Evening Citizens of PHiasant. Grove will be called upon Thursday night to do a "Golden Deed by making a contribution to fight Cerebral Palsy Pal-sy in Utah County, according to Mr. and Mrs. Nile Wadley, co-chairmen co-chairmen of the 1957 Golden Deed Crusade for the Pleasant Grove area. Mr. Wadley said that volunteer citizens will conduct a house-to-house canvas, to be called the Golden Gol-den Deed Patrol, as a part of the United Cerebral Palsy of Utah County's 1957 drive for funds. "Actually, we are engaged in a two-pronged fight to help the Cerebral Palsied on the local level and to support research so that a preventative will be found to stop cerebral palsy which cripples more ' than 10,000 newborn babies every year, Mr. Wadley said. The Pleasant Grove drive is part of a county-wide effort, which is being coordinated by the Utah County Chapter of United Cere- Ibral Palsy and is being directed by Provo Attorney, Thomas T. Taylor. Future plans include increased activity in this direction plus vocational and additional therapeutic services. The house-to-house canvass in the Pleasant Grove area will be conducted Thursday from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. Workers will be identified iden-tified by Golden Deed Patrol arm I bands. |
